Spina Bifida
900 babies born in the U.K are diagnosed each year with Spina Bifida. It is the most common cause of neural tube defect (NTD). All children with Spina Bifida will have their own unique needs. Spina bifida literary means 'split spine' and happens within the first 28 days of pregnancy, when the fetal spinal column fails to close completely.
Taking Folic acid with vitamin B12 three months before Pregnancy and during the first trimester, would greatly reduce the risk of a Spina Bifida Pregnancy.
